Early reporting helps minimizes exposure. The longer you wait to report an incident or claim, the greater the likelihood the harmed party will retain counsel. Once legal representation begins, it can take 58% longer to resolve general liability claims and 127% longer to resolve worker’s compensation claims. To minimize exposure, it is imperative that your Affiliate report any and all incidents or claims right away.

Every Day Counts

The longer it takes to inform your carrier, the more it reduces their ability to help your Affiliate.  Memories fade, evidence is lost and facts become increasingly difficult to verify. When it comes to early reporting, every day counts.

Delayed reporting can impact outcomes, particularly in terms of cost, time and stress. The longer it takes to report an incident, the more time the harmed party has to increase their total claim cost. They may seek additional treatment, take more time off work (which increases a lost wage claim) or retain counsel.

The sooner you report an incident, the more likely your carrier can positively impact the claim outcome.

Early reporting benefits include:

  • Saving money
  • Saving time
  • Safeguarding your Affiliate
  • Relieving excess stress

How to Report an Incident or Claim

If you have any questions you can always email hfhinsuranceservice@locktonaffinity.com or contact your Affiliate’s account manager.
