Ensure your ReStore is safe for employees and customers with these tips:
- Encourage proper lifting form to prevent strains and sprains. Overexertion and sprains continue to be caused by employees and volunteers not using correct lifting form. They can also occur when people do not know when or how to use team lift or mechanically assisted lifting. Inevitably, employees end up hurting their backs and filing a claim. Always teach employees and volunteers with proper lifting techniques.
- Clear aisles to prevent customers and employees from tripping. Merchandise that sticks out into the aisle needs to be moved so the aisles are a clear path for customers and employees alike.
- Clean up any spills as quickly as possible to prevent slips. Always place wet floor signs around the affected area until the floor is completely dry.
- Secure all merchandise to prevent it from falling and striking customers or employees.
