In the 2014 issues of our enewsletter we’re telling the story of how the top 5 winners of our 2013 Safety Award Program make safety a priority and earned our top honors.
In this issue we highlight Rochester Area Habitat for Humanity (RAHH).
According to Kevin Worden, RAHH’s Exec Director, safety implementation is like a marathon, not a sprint. Their hope is that the safety plan they’ve designed will be sustainable and will last for the long haul.
One of the reasons behind their success in the Safety Award Program is the fact that the safety team at the affiliate is their own biggest critic when it comes to ensuring safety practices on sites. That’s why they knew that participating in the Safety Award program would be a good thing.
“The safety self-assessment was a great tool that helped us know where we stood on safety and even better, it’s helped us set safety objectives for this coming year,” Kevin says. “One of our main focal points for the upcoming year is to minimize falls from heights. And we’ve got our sights set on an even higher overall score on the assessment tool, which means we’re keeping safety on our minds continually.”
Congratulations to everyone at Rochester Area Habitat—job well done!
