Sadly, robberies occur every day, yet most employees are unsure of what they should do if a robbery does happen while they are working. Experiencing a robbery can be a very frightening experience and panic or anger are common reactions. The most important things in handling a robbery are staying calm and doing exactly what a robber tells you to do.

Below we’ve provided some important training tips all employees should know in the instance the store is robbed:

  • Do NOT draw attention to yourself
  • Do NOT make any sudden movements
  • Do NOT scream or do anything to stop giving the robber money
  • Do NOT Argue or antagonize the robber or attempt to delay them in any way
  • DO give the robber what he or she wants
  • DO call the police immediately after the robber has left the premises
